At least 13 people were murdered in the Chicago area (CBS Chicago) during the Thanksgiving weekend (between last Wednesday and Sunday night), including two murder-suicides that claimed a total of five lives. The article details 12 gun-related deaths even though the headline only mentions nine.

It began at about 5:00 p.m. last Wednesday when 18-year-old Shannon Moore was found lying on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds. Witnesses say they heard a loud argument followed by gunshots. Moore died three days later at Northwestern Memorial Hospital.

A shooting at an Englewood gas station early on Thanksgiving morning left one man dead. An unidentified man approached 21-year-old Ricky Coleman and fired several shots. Police so far have no suspects.

Friday was the bloodiest, with two suspected murder-suicides.

A 31-year-old woman (Claudette Coleman) was found shot to death in an East Garfield Park apartment after police responded to the apparently self-inflicted fatal shooting of her newlywed husband, 28-year-old Antwone Coleman.

Later that day, police in Sauk Village responding to a call found an unidentified woman shot to death inside a home. They also found the body of 43-year-old Robert Allen, also fatally shot, in the driveway. Suspect Paul Gunn fatally shot himself in the chest when confronted by police.

Anthony Bryant, age 40, was shot dead during an armed robbery and 36-year-old Robert Barber was fatally shot in his home, both on Friday. Roy Williams was shot repeatedly while sitting in his car before finally dying from multiple gunshot wounds and Dolton-based Dorday Keys was shot to death in a South Side neighborhood, both on Saturday.

A man in south suburban Summit, 28-year-old Treondes Spriggs, was found shot early on Sunday morning less than one mile from his home.
